MOUNDRIDGE – The McPherson Brass Quintet will present an outdoor concert at 5 p.m., on Labor Day, Sept. 4, in Moundridge’s Wheatridge Park. Planned by the Moundridge Arts Council, the event is open to the public. A free will offering will be collected to underwrite concert expenses.
The Labor Day Concert is a first for the community. The program celebrates one year since the start of the Moundridge Arts Council. The concert will feature light music from a range of time periods, including English madrigals, Dixieland jazz, 1940s swing tunes and patriotic favorites.
Quintet members include Richard Guse and Darren Hendricks, trumpets; Winona Godfrey, French horn; Ty Kaufman, euphonium; and Greg Nickel, tuba.
Wheatridge Park is located on South Washington Avenue in Moundridge, near the city swimming pool. Bring blankets or lawn chairs.
