ComfortCare Homes of Harvey County, a provider of dementia care, announced they are expanding and will be opening a second home later this year. Located at 1508 Terrace Dr., Newton, the home will accommodate six residents.

“We are in the early stages of construction but are excited to expand and provide a second option for those looking for memory care,” said Karri Knox-Wolken, Owner/Director of Operations of ComfortCare Homes of Harvey County. “Future residents can look forward to a home environment where they will be cared for by staff with over 20 years of Alzheimer’s experience.”

Located next door to the current ComfortCare Home in Newton, it will have all the comforts of a real home including spacious living area, dining room, and a backyard and patio space.  Both private rooms and couple suites are available for reservation.

An open house will be announced later this fall where the community will be invited to come tour the home.

“It began with a dream…an option for future long-term care for those living with the effects of Alzheimer’s," said  Robert Patton, Owner/Licensee of the Newton business. "When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s I looked into alternative living arrangements in Illinois, to no avail. The need for such type of care became evident to me and when I learned of Doug Stark’s ComfortCare Homes® I wanted to provide the same alternative my mother never had to people facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia in the Newton, Kansas area.”
