Quartet to perform

The 4Given Quartet,  a singing group from Hutchinson, will perform in Newton Aug. 6

Considered a southern gospel quartet, the group will perform at 6 p.m. at St. Luke Evangelical Church, 808 E. Sixth. There will be an ice cream social at the church following the concert. 

The quartet has peformed at Spring Lake RV Resort near Hutchinson, as part of the National Day of Prayer observance in Hutchinson and on the Lake Talbott and Bretz Arena stages at the Kansas State Fair. In 2016, 4Given performed with Legacy Quartet at the Fox Theatre of Hutchinson. 

 

Jantzen serves with Service Adventure

ELKHART, Indiana  – Kristin Jantzen, of Newton, began a one-year service term with the Service Adventure program in August 2017. Jantzen will be living with other young adults in a unit house in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A 2017 graduate of Newton High School, Jantzen is the daughter of Alice and Mark Jantzen, and is a member of Faith Mennonite Church in Newton, part of Western District Conference.

Since 1989, Service Adventure has provided opportunities for young adults, ages 17 to 20, to serve in cities and towns in the United States while they live in a household community, with a leader, for 10 months. Participants have volunteered in medical clinics, tutored children, worked with senior citizens, assisted in building homes, and helped meet additional needs across North America.
