State to provide child ID kits at Harvey County Fair

Free child identification kits and information to help consumers protect themselves from identity theft, scams and deceptive business practices will be offered at the upcoming Harvey County Fair, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said Friday.

“Protecting Kansas children and consumers are important priorities for our office,” Schmidt said. “I hope folks will stop by our booth to learn more about how they can keep themselves and their families safe.”

The booth will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. August 5 and 6 and noon to 8 p.m. August 7 and 8. The fair is located at 800 W. First St. in Newton. The booth will be located outside next to the food vendors on the Southside of the 4-H building.
