It’s official.

As if the sign change wasn’t enough, San Diego-based Kelly Restaurant Group announced Wednesday it has become independent of Stockade Companies and will change the name of 13 locations throughout Kansas, including restaurants in Hutchinson, McPherson and Newton.

The Montana Mike’s restaurants in McPherson and Newton are now called Kansas Bar and Grill.  The group's Sirloin Stockade locations will now be called The Kansas Buffet Company.

Michael Kelly, owner of Kelly Companies which is an affiliate of the restaurant group, said in the release the announcement is a response to the “changing demands of our consumers and the restaurant industry” and a new menu with “healthy and exciting” options will focus on higher quality products.

Temporary signage has already been put up at all locations.

The Kansas Bar and Grill locations will have a new menu.

According to the announcement, Kelly Restaurant Group owns seven Montana Mike’s franchises in Kansas. All of the locations’ names will change. The release also says the group has six Sirloin Stockade and Coyote Canyon franchises in Kansas, which will now all be The Kansas Buffet Company.

Over the next several months, the release says, changes will include updating storefronts, interiors and adding new furnishings as well as craft beer at some locations.

Gift cards will still be redeemable at the locations and hours of operation will be unchanged.

The group has locations in Dodge City and Salina as well. The release says the group and its affiliates own over 100 restaurants in 22 states.
