This weekend Spring Lake RV Resort near Halstead will host dinner and music.
1. Homegrown talent
The McKinney Sisters, a trio of sisters from Moundridge, are homeschooled and have been playing together as a trio for more than three years.
Daryl plays acoustic guitar and mandolin; Randyl plays banjo, dobro, guitar and mandolin; and Mikyl plays fiddle and mandolin.
2. Bluegrass music
The sisters have shared their love for Bluegrass music and a gospel message from care homes to banquets, to the youth stage of the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield. Some performance highlights include the KBA Winterfest in Wichita; Pickin’ on the Plains in Colby; Countgry and Bluegrass Festival, North Platte, Nebraska; and participating in the KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Competition in Silver Dollar City, Missouri.
The girls released their debut album, "The McKinney Sisters," in 2015 and released a second album, "Home Sick for Heaven," in early 2016.
A chicken fried steak meal will be served in the resort clubhouse prior to the concert.
