Newton, KS —

On April 12, the Newton Rotary Club (91 years of service to Newton) had its semi-annual clean-up of U.S. Highway 50 east of Newton. The Rotary Club is responsible for cleaning three miles of U.S. 50's shoulders twice a year.
In two and one-half hours of walking the highway's ditches and shoulders, they picked up 39 bags of garbage thrown out by passing motorists.
