Blown tire causes rollover accident

A blown tire caused a rollover accident on Interstate 135 Monday morning, sending two Newton women to the hospital.
Jill Garver, 47, of Newton was driving a 2005 Chevy SUV southbound on I-135 near mile post 24 when the left rear tire blew out. Garver lost control of the vehicle, which rolled and came to rest on the passenger’s side in the median.
Passenger Jaci Garver, 18, of Newton was ejected from the vehicle. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, she was not wearing a seat belt.
Both women were transported to Wesley Medical Center.
