Peggy and Richard Burkholder of Newton announce the engagement of their daughter, Christen Burkholder of Newton, to Karel Barta of Newton, formerly of the Czech Republic, the son of Karel and Eva Barta of the Czech Republic.
The couple plans to marry Dec. 11 in Newton.
