Newton High School commencement set

Newton High School Commencement will be at 7 p.m. May 17 at Athletic Park on Fischer Field.

Relatives, friends and guests will sit on the stadium and bleacher seats. Seniors, band members, board of education members, faculty, staff and administrators will be seated on chairs on Fischer Field.

Lawn chairs and/or traffic from guests will not be allowed inside the fence surrounding the field.

Professional pictures of graduates receiving their diplomas will be available for students and parents to purchase.

Parking will be limited in select areas because of the ongoing Sand Creek construction project and will be first-come, first-served. A limited amount of handicapped parking will be available.

The parking and drop-off point for guests with handicaps will be the lot at the west entry gate.

In case of inclement weather, commencement will be in Ravenscroft Gymnasium. Seniors and senior parents will receive a phone call if the location is changed.

Seating in Ravenscroft will require a ticket. Each senior previously received eight tickets for this purpose.

Additional seating, for viewing a live broadcast of graduation, will be available in the NHS auditorium and Willis Gymnasium. Tickets are not required in these two locations.

Admission gates for commencement, regardless of location, will open at 5:45 p.m.
