Bethel College announces scholarships

Bethel College announces recipients of academic scholarships for the 2009-10 school year who are first-time freshmen at the college. Academic scholarships at Bethel are based on high school grade point average and college entrance exams.

• Landon Bartel, Newton, has been awarded the Outstanding Student Academic Scholarship from Bethel College for the 2009-10 academic year. The scholarship is valued at $22,400 over a four-year period. Bartel is a graduate of Newton High School. His parents are Gregory Bartel and Cathy Penner.

• Leah Bartel, North Newton, has been awarded the President’s Academic Scholarship from Bethel College for the 2009-10 academic year. The scholarship is valued at $32,000 over a four-year period. Bartel is a graduate of Newton High School. Her parents are Barry and Brenda Bartel.

• Justin Beth, Newton, has been awarded the Dean’s Academic Scholarship from Bethel College for the 2009-10 academic year. The scholarship is valued at $27,200 over a four-year period. Beth is a graduate of Newton High School. His parents are Charles and Cynthia Beth.

• Joel Boettger, Hesston, has been awarded the President’s Academic Scholarship from Bethel College for the 2009-10 academic year. The scholarship is valued at $32,000 over a four-year period. Boettger is a graduate of Hesston High School. His parents are Conrad Boettger and Beth Hershberger.
