USD 373 Superintendent Dr. John Morton introduces the 1964 Kansas Teacher of the Year, Dr. Neysa Eberhard of Newton, to guests at a Tuesday reception honoring this year’s state finalists at the Carriage Factory Gallery and Museum in Newton. Finalists toured the Newton school district, then met with guests at the Carriage Factory. This year’s finalists are, from the left, Mary Bradshaw, Newton; Marylin Fox, Manhattan-Ogden; Mary Martha Good, El Dorado; Cynthia Venard, Dodge City; Walter Cochran, Gardner-Edgerton; Jennifer Hartman, De Soto; Julie Miller, Paola; and Cynthia Couchman, Buhler, who was this year’s Teacher of the Year.
