Chisholm Trail Festival cow chip found

Graduating sophomores were recognized with awards for their academic achievements during Hesston College’s annual Larkfest during Commencement Weekend. The May 2 event was at Hesston Mennonite Church.

Rachel Rebecca Horsch of Newton received a bachelor of science degree in psychology at Truman State University’s graduation ceremonies May 9.

For the 16th year, The University of Kansas alumni in Harvey County have made it possible for financial scholarships to be awarded to Harvey County Kansas Honors Scholars, students in the top 10 percent of their senior class, who plan to attend The University of Kansas.

Desiree’ Danielle Penner of Moundridge graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty in May.

Newton High School teachers Greg Lehr and Scott McCloud were named the 2009 Excellence in Teaching award winners for USD 373 at the end of year celebration for district staff on May 22.

Two students, Bradley Crawley and Dakota Smith, graduated from Eby Learning Center.
