HESSTON — The Rodgers family reunion, in remembrance of Henry H. and Sarah (Fretz) Rodgers, was July 18 at King Memorial Park in Hesston.
A carry-in meal was enjoyed, following the invocation given by Jon Wiley, having 54 in attendance and one guest, Delberta Brandt of Florida.
The afternoon was enjoyed, getting reacquainted and reminiscing. Recognized were: traveling the farthest, Dr. Alan Rodgers of Cambridge, Mass., and the youngest, a tie, Landen Hughes and Adalyn Carey. The family with the most present, also a tie, with 17 each, were Charles L. Rodgers and Leonard L. Rodgers, sons of Henry H. and Sarah Rodgers.
Out of state relatives were Linda (Rodgers) Stiefel of Valley Head, Ala., Susan and Eddie Yawn of Newnan, Ga., Keith and Rowena Rodgers of San Antonio, Jon and Linda Wiley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Darci (Dreier) Weller of California, and Justin and Heather Regier of Ohio.
From out of Newton but in Kansas were Richard and Romona Hare, Janet Hare, Janelle, son Landen, brother John, Diana (Hartman) Peterson, Nathaniel Alumbaugh, and Shirley and Cliff Kohen, all of Wichita; David Wiley, Ruth (Wiley) Solon of Park City; Kevin, Lenora and Dustin Carey, Zachary, Amanda, Emmalyn and Adalyn Carey, all of Valley Center; William and Margaret Brandt of Halstead; and Milton and Lorraine Miller of Hesston.
