Train visits festival

This a photo of the type of BNSF locomotive that will be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Fourth and Poplar streets in Newton as part of the Chisholm Trail Festival. It will be just south of the Newton Post Office. “Operation Lifesaver” also will have a booth set up in the area. The “Operation Lifesaver” booth will have handouts on safety and prevention of accidents at railroad crossings. There also will be coloring books for the kids describing the dangers of playing around railroad tracks and climbing on railroad trains.
