Gerald Wiens will share his images of Kansas landscapes and biota and give an insider’s view of how to capture such beauty with a camera in a presentation at Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston.

The presentation will be at 6:30 p.m. March 30.

This is the final program of the Winter Lecture Series.

“Knowing the subject and developing a mastery of camera equipment help make one an expert in the world of photography,” said Brad Guhr, arboretum education coordinator. “Following this prescription with a master’s degree in fisheries and wildlife biology and more than 20 years experience photographing nature and wildlife on the Plains, Gerald Wiens has established himself as one of the premier wildlife photographers in Kansas.”

More than 1,000 of his images have appeared in a variety of publications.

He co-authored the book “Kansas Wildlife” and has won many photo contests and awards.

The arboretum is offering supper at 6 p.m. or just the lecture at 6:30 p.m. ($2 for lecture, $7 for supper and lecture). Call (620) 327-8127 by noon on March 29 for supper reservations.
