Artist Ralph Roybal of Albuquerque, N.M., will visit the Carriage Factory Gallery in Newton today for a one-day showing of bronze sculptures.
Roybal will have sculptures in bronze available for viewing and purchase from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.Roybal’s artistic desire is to recreate history and culture of the American West. He worked in the Santa Fe Foundry and the Dell Weston Studio Foundry. Work at foundries gradually led to full-time sculpture work on his own in 1985.Ralph Roybal’s fascination with and love for the Old West is exemplified in the faces of his bronzes. His historical portraits of the “Famous American Indian Chiefs” series has become a favorite of many private collectors. The exhibit is open to the public and free of charge.
