The Third Tuesday Genealogy Group will focus on African-American genealogy at its next meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Newton Public Library, 720 N. Oak St.
A video following the story of Free Frank McWorter, “Rediscovering a Black Pioneer’s Dream,” will be viewed. McWorter, who founded the town of New Philadelphia,Ill., has connections to local families. A discussion of resources for African-American genealogical research will follow.
