The Bethel College Chamber Orchestra will join with the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orch-estra for a concert featuring faculty from Bethel and from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
The concert is at 7 p.m. on Sunday in Memorial Hall.
Timothy Shade, Bethel College director of instrumental music and music education, will conduct.
“I am really excited about this concert,” he said, “as it will feature our students with our community members and area professionals as well as our own Jim Pisano on clarinet and UMKC Professor Dale Morehouse, baritone.”
Tickets for the concert are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for students and $5 for Bethel College faculty, staff and students and may be purchased at the Thresher Bookstore in Schultz Student Center on the Bethel campus (phone 316-284-5205), or at the door.
James Pisano, clarinet, has been on the faculty of Bethel College, where he directs jazz studies, since 2006. He travels frequently to fulfill performance and teaching invitations, which have taken him to nearly every state as well as Europe and South Africa.
