McPHERSON —
The Board of Directors of Associated Colleges of Central Kansas has announced Jerry Smith as the new executive director.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Jerry’s leadership capacity and technology expertise join ACCK and lead us into the future. His experience and skill is what the ACCK needs for the next part of our journey,” said Jules Glanzer, chairman of the ACCK board of directors. As the director of Office of Information Services at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg for the last seven years, Smith was responsible for overseeing campus-wide technology and information systems for the university. In addition to university duties, Jerry also served on several boards and committees including the Regents Information Technology Council, the KanREN Board of Directors, Kansas Strategic Information Management committee and the Kansas Information Technology Advisory Boar. “I am excited to join ACCK,” Smith said in a press release. “ACCK provides a unique model of how colleges can work together to reduce operating costs and expand opportunities to students that is even more relevant today than it was 40 years ago when the consortium began.” The Associated Colleges of Central Kansas is a consortium composed of six private, church-related, co-educational institutions located within 40 miles of McPherson: Bethany College at Lindsborg, Bethel College at North Newton, Kansas Wesleyan University at Salina, McPherson College at McPherson, Sterling College at Sterling and Tabor College at Hillsboro.
