The American Heart Association has announced Teri Mather, corporate events director for the Start! Heart Walk in Wichita and Hutchinson, as the recipient of the Rome Betts Award for Excellence.
Mather, a lifetime resident of Newton, was selected for this national honor from among the best of her peers. The award cites Mather’s “tremendous leadership, hard work and consistent high performance,” all of which are instrumental in helping the American Heart Association “build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”
“Teri Mather is the consummate professional, inspiring others to succeed because she sets high expectations and leads by example,” said Linda L. Wright, metro executive director for the American Heart Association in Wichita. “We are so proud of Teri, and this national recognition is well-deserved.”
