I can't escape the fact that Valentine’s Day never ceases to always come once a year. It's the day where all those who don't have a lover are supposed to cover themselves in black and eat far too much chocolate cake and of course tell themselves 57 times that the holiday doesn't exist.
Sorry, but I really think that is a poor way to observe the day of hearts. Yes I am undeniably single, but well I love Valentine's Day.
Probably it is because how my mother made sure we always ate red food and rich dark chocolate cake on Valentine’s Day. There was so much fun too in spending days upon days gluing red lace hearts onto pink construction paper for all of my friends.
I live at college now where some people are very unsure what to do with this holiday. I'm pretty sure that people roll their eyes at me when I mention encouraging the wearing of red and the eating of chocolate cake on the blessed day.
I think some people even surprised themselves this past February 14th. A few guys in true festivity of the day were decked on in suits and red ties. Others proudly carried around homemade mailboxes for the all the Valentines the anticipated upon receiving.
I'm pretty sure I got giddy seeing the red envelops in my mail box. All from my family in case you were wondering:) My niece told me no less than 2 times that she loved me and also made sure to inform me that the chickens were laying very well.
It was a good day, not because I got red roses or dinner at a fancy restaurant, but because it was just one of those days that were just little more special then every other ordinary day. Life needs those you know or else it’s pretty easy to just every day just like day before with not even a hint of specialness.
