Gilberto and Alison Flores of Kansas City, Kan., announce the birth of a son, Mateo Sebastian Flores Schmidt, who was born at 6:37 p.m. Oct. 2, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence.
Maternal grandparents are John and Kay Schmidt of Walton. Paternal grandparents are Gilberto and Rosa Flores of Dallas.At birth, the baby weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long. He has black hair and dark eyes.
