Melvin Higgs, long-time resident of Newton, will celebrate his 100th birthday Sunday at Newton Presbyterian Manor.
Melvin was the proprietor of Charlsen’s Market for 20 years.
Friends are encouraged to send a card to celebrate his centenarian status (1200 E. Seventh, Newton, KS 67114), and stop by the Manor Sun Room between 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday to celebrate his longevity.
