  • Museum to host 'pep rally'

  • The Kansas Sports Museum will be giving $500 to the Kansas High School that has the most students and supporters in attendance at the Pep Rally on Friday  in Newton.
    Friday the Kansas Sports Museum will be hosting its first ever Pep Rally. All High Schoolers in Kansas are invited.
    “The goal of the Pep Rally is to inspire the high school student athletes of Kansas to have great seasons,” said Will Tate, the Kansas Sports Museum Director.
    The night will feature a visit from Jim Ryun, the first high school athlete to run a sub 4 minute mile. Ryan is now Congressman, author and educator will be speaking to the Rally in this anniversary year of his sub 4 minute mile run.
    Cheer squads and drum lines will be encouraged to show off their talents.
    At the conclusion of the event there will be a ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
    The Pep Rally will be at the Kansas Sports Museum located at 601 SE 36th Street Newton, KS, Exit 28 off I-135.
    The High School that has the most attendants register at the event will be granted $500 to use any way they would like.
