We want to voice our support for Barbara Bunting, Republican candidate for the 72nd District of the Kansas House of Representatives. We believe she has the knowledge, experience and leadership skills to represent our community’s interests.
As retired educators, we have grave concerns about the future of education in Kansas. The current Legislature, led by Governor Brownback, has attempted to cripple public education through inadequate funding and questionable policy changes, while providing support for private schools through tax-exempt corporate-sponsored scholarships.
Barbara has served eight years on the School Board for USD 373, Newton, and three years - including one as President – on the executive committee of Kansas Association of School Boards. She has exhibited the leadership and knowledge to be an effective advocate for education.
Other significant issues include the future of health care in Kansas, and inadequate funding of various support systems for our most vulnerable citizens. Barbara’s awareness of these issues is evidenced by her involvement and leadership in a variety of service and non-profit organizations in our community.
If you believe it’s time for a change of direction for Kansas, please join us in voting for Barbara Bunting to represent District 72 in the Kansas legislature.
