The local Better Breathers Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Newton Medical Center, 600 Medical Center Dr., to discuss chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and exercise.
The Better Breathers Club offers the opportunity to learn ways to better cope with COPD while getting from support others.
Daniel Nichols, a registered respiratory therapist, will be the guest speaker Monday.
The group meets regularly and provides educational presentations on a variety of topics, including:
• Medications and other treatment options • Medical tests • Supplemental oxygen • Home health care
Those who suffer from COPD and their families are invited to attend the free event. There will also be time for a Q&A session. The program is sponsored by Newton Medical Center’s respiratory therapy program.
