Gail Coleman will be the featured speaker for the Spring Book Blast at First Christian Church, Newton from 3 to 5 p.m. April 27.
In 1999, Gail experienced a mother's worst nightmare when her only son and oldest child was injured in an accident that left him paralyzed. The journey from tragedy to transformation is a story neither Gail, her son Brandon, nor her friends and family will ever forget.
Gail tells that story in her book, A Mother's Knot: From Tragedy to Transformation. It's a story of courage, determination, and persistence in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
Book Blasts are held once each quarter to promote the congregation’s in-house library, as well as the writers of the congregation, the community, and the region. Book Blast events are open to the public and free of charge and hosted at the church on the corner of First and Main in Newton.
