10:35 a.m. "Malaysia - Truly Asia: Land of Diversity and Beauty," Jim Goering, North Newton.
11:30 a.m. "Sampler: 'The Pirates of Penzance,'" John McCabe-Juhnke, Chris Westover and Bethel College students.
Cherilyn Dahlsten will have a book signing for "Hey Mom, Iíll Start Dinner: A team approach to getting dinner on the table" at Faith and Life Bookstore, 606 N. Main St., Newton. The event will be Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Dahlsten, working wife and mother of four boys, has written her first cookbook. "Hey Mom, Iíll Start Dinner" moves beyond the typical ďteach your kids to cookĒ cookbook and attempts to create a tool which bonds parents and children into a team, each playing their integral role in getting dinner on the table. The result is satisfying and nutritious meals the whole family will enjoy, as well as new confidence for your child and less stress at meal time.

Shirley Showalter will have a book signing for "Blush: A Mennonite girl meets the glittering world" at Faith and Life Bookstore. The event will be Monday, March 10, 2014, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Showalter, former President of Goshen College in Indiana, has recently released her childhood memoir, "Blush: A Mennonite girl meets the glittering world." The book tells about her childhood and adolescence growing up in Lancaster County, Pa., where she often felt conflicted with her Mennonite life and the outside world. Showalter will be visiting Kansas and will make a stop at Faith & Life Bookstore.
