ELBING The host Berean Academy Warrior girls' basketball team advanved to the finals of the 47th Eli J. Walter Invitational with a 42-40 overtime win over Wichita Trinity Academy Thursday in Elbing.

Berean trailed 17-15 at the half, but pulled ahead 25-24 after three quarters. All of the Warriors scoring in overtime came from the line, hitting six of 10.

Megan Hendrickson scored 12 points for Berean, 8-3. Shiloh Miller scored 13 points for Trinity Academy, 6-6.

Douglass reached the finals with a 51-22 win over Goessel. Up 10-6 after the first quarter, the Bulldogs took control with a 17-4 second quarter.

Douglass, 12-0, was led by Klair Gibson with 19 points. Goessel, 4-7, was led by Alicen Meysing with eight points.

In the consolation semifinals, Burrton was edged by Hutchinson Central Christian 33-30. Burrton trailed 18-15 at the half.

Rachel Hagen led Central Christian with nine points. Kaylene Matlack scored nine points for Burrton.

In Saturday's games, Douglass will face Berean at 7 p.m. in the finals. Goessel will play Wichita Trinity Academy at 5:15 p.m., Sunrise Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m., and Burrton meets Stafford at 2 p.m.

Sedgwick led 28-23 at the half.

Audrey Bebermeier led Sedgwick with 16 points. Taylor Bevan added 10.

Anna Schwerdtfeger led Fairfield with 13 points. Raelee Ibarra added 10 points.

Sedgwick plays Saturday in the consolation finals.
