Recently it became clear to me that Grandview Avenue between West Broadway and 12th Street is not the best option for walking due mainly to the absence of a sidewalk on either side. The risk of an accident is much less on Boyd Street where walkers have a better chance of getting to the school safely on the sidewalk I was driving north on Grandview using car lights at 7:15 A.M. when I met a small group of students moving to the center of the street to get around a parked car. The hazards of doing this without looking back or without wearing bright clothing or back-packs is obvious.

Students are to be commended for walking to school. However, when using Grandview Avenue it might be important for pedestrians to walk against the stream of vehicles.
