Volunteers scurried from room to room, some carrying pans of stuffing and others filling serving stations with Turkey.
First Baptist Church expected to serve hundreds of turkey or ham dinners during the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
Now in the 18th year of the event sponsored by area churches, hundreds arrived at the church starting at 11 a.m. — and hundreds more called the church for a delivery to their home.
There was no ticket price, the meal is served free.
The menu included turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, cranberries, sugar-free salad, rolls, pie, cake, coffee and tea.
First Baptist Church, Salem United Methodist Church, Trinity Heights United Methodist Church and Grace Community Church were sponsors of this year's dinner.
