Newton Medical Center will open a new primary care clinic, Medical Plaza of Hillsboro, on Dec. 9.

The new clinic will be temporarily located at 122 N. Main St., while a permanent facility is built in the upcoming year at 808 E. D St. Board certified in internal medicine, Brett Nedich, DO, will provide primary care at the clinic.

"One of the benefits of my profession is that I am able to develop long-term relationships with my patients," Dr. Nedich said. "That continuity — seeing the same patients over a long period of time — brings my work to a more personal level."

Originally from Overland Park, Dr. Nedich earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Avila University in Kansas City, Mo., and his DO degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He spent his residency at the University of South Dakota — Sanford School of Medicine before returning to Kansas.

Dr. Nedich's clinical interests include a variety of conditions, preventive medicine, men's and women's health care, sports medicine, chronic disease treatment and management, dermatology, inpatient care, weight loss and cardiovascular health.

Keri Bell, APRN, NP-C, will join Dr. Nedich as the clinic's nurse practitioner. A resident of Hillsboro, Bell earned her bachelor's and master's of science in nursing degrees from Fort Hays State University. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
