  • HESSTON — Darrion Martin scored 26 points to help lift Hesston College rally to a 79-75 win over the Bethel College junior varsity Wednesday at Yost Center.
    Bethel led by 11 at the half, 44-33. The junior Threshers led by as many as 19 early in the second half. Hesston replied wth a 14-2 run. Bethel led by nine with 7:40 remaining in regulation. Hesston came back with another run, taking a 74-73 lead with 2:36 remaining.
    A pair of Damon Trotnic free throws with 2:14 remaining gave Bethel its final lead and was the final Thresher points of the game. Martin put the Larks in the lead for good with a jumper with 1:23 remaining.
    Jordan Tanner added 14 points for Hesston, 2-6. Jesse Johnson scored 10 points. Tre Smoot had 13 rebounds.
    Bethel was led by Terrance Jones with 19 points, followed by Jordan Hett with 15 and Damon Trotnic with 13.
    Hesston plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Cowley College in Arkansas City.
