TULSA, Okla. — The Wichita Thunder claimed its first regulation win of the season, stopping the Tulsa Oilers 6-1 Tuesday at the BOK Center in Central Hockey League.
Wichita scored the first four goals and led 5-1 after two periods. Wichita added a goal in the third period.
Nick Parland scored two goals with an assist for the Thunder. Matt Robinson added two goals. Jared Walker scored a goal with an assist. R.G. Flath added a goal.
Jason Wilson had two assists. Mike Wilson, Karl Linden, Tomas Klempa, Thomas Beauregard, Jon Booras and Dustin Donaghy each added an assist.
For Tulsa, Adam Pleskach scored a goal with assists from Ben Gordon and Todd Robinson.
Wichita was outshot 38-23. Taylor Nelson had 37 saves in goal for the Thunder. Shane Madolora had eight saves for Tulsa in the loss. Ross MacKinnon had nine saves.
Tulsa falls to 4-6-2. Wichita improves to 2-7-3. The two teams meet both Friday and Saturday at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita. Face off both nights is 7:05 p.m.
