Players and spectators at the 23rd annual Bethel College golf tournament had the extra benefit of playing with or watching a pro golfer.

PGA member Woody Austin, Derby, was one of the 72 players at the event, held Sept. 14 at Sand Creek Station.

Austin came to the tournament at the invitation of his friend Matt Koontz, a Bethel graduate from Newton. The team that included Austin and Koontz won first place in the tournament and donated the prize money back to the college.

On the PGA Tour this year, Austin won the 2013 Sanderson Farms Championship. He was a member of the 2007 U.S. President's Cup team.
