  • First Bank announced final totals for its recently completed 2013 Harvey County United Way campaign with a check presentation to executive director Tina Payne.
Through payroll deduction pledges, one-time gifts, the bank’s corporate donation, and a long list of special events held throughout the year, First Bank employees raised more than $21,000 to benefit Harvey County United Way agencies.
The bank has a United Way Committee that meets throughout the year to plan campaign events. The committee is co-chaired by Kim Richtig, First Bank Hesston branch manager, and Jamie Wright, assistant internal auditor.
Ray Penner, president, acknowledged the bank’s long-standing record of successful United Way campaigns, stating, “First Bank’s employees are incredibly generous and fully committed to the mission of United Way. Year after year they come up with fun, creative ideas and spend a lot of time and effort to bring in big numbers. We are so proud of our employees and their commitment to the community. It’s truly what First Bank is about.”
First Bank is Harvey County’s oldest bank, established in 1873. The bank has four locations and nine ATMs in Newton and Hesston.
