  • Police auction set for Oct. 24

  • Staff at the Newton Police Department have been busy this week gathering items to be put up for bid at the annual police auction.
    The auction is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.  Oct. 24 at the Police Department, 120 E. Seventh St. Carson Hayes will serve as auctioneer.
    Bidder numbers will be issued starting at 5 p.m. in the Police Department lobby. Photo identification will be required to receive a number.
    Items up for bid this year include vehicles, bicycles, tools and other miscellaneous items. All items may be viewed the day of the auction. Payment can be made by cash or checks; no credit cards will be accepted.
