  • Miles named 'woman of year'

  • The Newton Business and Professional Women organization announced the local BPW "Woman of the Year," Jennifer Miles.
    Miles is an active member of the Newton BPW organization. She currently serves as adviser and emblem chairperson. She is a past president of the Newton BPW and currently works for Fuqua Ruth Typer-Hesston as commercial account manager. She graduated from North High School and attended Wichita State University.
    The BPW Woman of the Year award focuses on women who have contributed to the community through advocacy, education and information for the betterment of women in society. BPW is a leading advocate for millions of women on work life balance and workplace equity issues. The Newton organization also is celebrating 89 years during 2013.
