  • A high speed chase which started in McPherson County ended in Harvey County.
The chase began early Thursday afternoon, and ended with Marty Moler, 43, and his passenger Glenn Moler, 46, taken into custody. Charges will be filed through the Harvey County Attorney's office
"This is off the roads," said Melissa Flavin, spokesperson for the Harvey County Sheriff's Office. "I can confirm they traveled on the interstate in the incorrect lane. We do not have any accident reports."
The driver of the car drove in the wrong lane of I-135 during the chase, nearly causing a head on collision with a semi truck, after which it eventually left the interstate at about mile marker 36.
The driver exited the vehicle after it blew a tire in a farm field 2/10 of a mile east of West Street at North 60th St. — which is four miles north and three miles west of the Newton Public Golf Course.
The vehicle came to a stop in Harvey County, two tenths of a mile east of West Street and North 60th Street on the south side of the road. The Mcpherson Sentinel reports the driver and a passenger bailed out and attempted to flee on foot, and were apprehended in Harvey County.
Included in the search effort were K-9 units and LifeTeam air units.
