  • Life Enrichment Sept. 25
    The Life Enrichment educational series at Bethel College is especially for adults age 60 and older. The next sessions are:
    9:30 a.m. "The Farmton Plan: A Community Planning for the Future in Central Florida," Barbra Goering, senior vice president of Miami-Corp., Chicago.
    10:35 a.m. "Two Weeks in New Zealand," Craig and Cindy Simons, Newton.
    11:30 a.m. "Stay at Home Longer," Jerry Pomeroy, Advanced Therapy, Newton.
    Note: There will be no Life Enrichment on Oct. 2, since that is the week of Fall Fest at Bethel College.
    Community Worship Night Sept. 29
    RiverPoint Church is hosting Newton Community Worship Night with Darrell Evans. The event starts at 7 p.m. at RiverPoint Church, 722 N. Main Street in Newton.
    Please bring a non-perishable food item to be given to the Harvey County Homeless Shelter. A love offering will be taken for Darrell Evans.
    Other event sponsors include Holiday Inn, KBCU-FM 88.1, and the Harvey County Homeless Shelter.
    Fun and Fashion for the Cure Oct. 22
    All proceeds for the event will benefit the local chapter of Victory in the Valley. The event begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails (cash bar), followed by the opening of the buffet line at 6:15 p.m. and a fashion show at 6:30 p.m. Fashions provided by Benley's, Dress Barn and Main Street Co.
    Cost for tickets is $25. Tickets must be purchased by noon on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The event will be at the Meridian Center, 1420 E. Broadway Court. Ticket price includes buffet dinner, door prizes and the fashion show.
    Tickets are available for purchase at Curves of Newton, Benley's, Dress Barn and Main Street Co.
