The education and experience he received in mental and behavioral health care has prepared Eric Lowery, a licensed specialist clinical social worker, to treat children and adolescents. He will provide outpatient services at Prairie View’s west Wichita office beginning Sept. 9.
Diagnoses Lowery primarily works with include depression, anxiety, autism, trauma, conduct disorder, and borderline personality issues. He is certified as an autism specialist through the Kansas Autism Waiver Program.
“I do a great deal of family work and also find immense satisfaction working with children and teens struggling with phase-of-life issues," he said.
Lowery earned a bachelor of science degree in sociology at Emporia State University, and a master of social work degree at the University of Kansas. As a social worker, Lowery has worked in various roles in the Kansas City metro area, including behavioral health consultant and mental health therapist. Most recently, he was acute hospital therapist and acute clinical team lead at a children’s psychiatric hospital.
