    Inman 15, Moundridge 6
    MOUNDRIDGE — In a clash of traditional Heart of America League rivals, Inman edged Moundridge 15-6 Friday in Moundridge.
    "A heck of a defensive slugfest and one ugly display of offensive execution on our part," Moundridge coach Courtney Moddelmog said. "By far one of the better defensive efforts we have had in awhile, but in the end they wore us down for the last score."
    Inman scored rushing touchdowns in the first and fourth quarters. Moundridge scored on a 70-yard Garrett Higgins kickoff return.
    Higgins led the Moundridge offense, passing for 101 yards.
    Moundridge plays Friday at Hutchinson Trinity.

    Peabody-Burns 60, White City 14
    PEABODY — The Peabody-Burns Warriors opened the season with a 60-14 win over White City Friday in Wheat State League play in White City.
    The Warriors led 46-14 at the half, putting the game away with two touchdowns in the third quarter.
    Fred Winsor rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns for the Warriors. Kyle Braxton passed for 164 yards and two scores. Braxton and Keifer Larson each added rushing touchdown. Kevin Baatrup and Clayton Philpott each caught a touchdown pass.
    Xavier Jabary added a safety for the Warrior defense. Baatrup had seven total tackles.
    Peabody-Burns plays Friday at Little River in a key league matchup.

    Centre 62, Goessel 14
    GOESSEL — The Centre Cougars downed WSL rival Goessel 62-14 Friday in Goessel.
    Centre led 44-14 at the half.
    Three Centre rushers went for over 100 yards — Kyle Methvin with 151 yards and three touchdowns, Conner Montgomery for 129 yards and a score and Dakota Stimpson with 102 yards and three scores. Methvin passed for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Simmons and Terren Thompson each caught a touchdown pass.
    Chase Flaming and Kellen Froese each rushed for a touchdown.
    Goessel plays Friday at Canton-Galva.
