LINCOLN, Neb. — The Wichita Wingnuts won for the second straight day, stopping the Lincoln Saltdogs 10-2 Wednesday afternoon at Haymaker Park in American Association play.

Wichita improves to 64-31, four games ahead of Fargo-Moorhead for the best record in the American Assocation, with five games to play.

Lincoln falls to 48-47, likely eliminated from playoff contention.

Leading 3-2, Wichita scored a run in the seventh and sixth in the eighth to put things away.

John Rodriguez hit two home runs and drove in four runs. Jake Kahaulelio added a home run. Rodriguez finished the day three for four hitting. Brent Clevlen went three for five hitting with an RBI. David Amberson finished three for four with an RBI. Kahaulelio finished two for five with two RBIs. Johnny Bowden and Madison Beard each drove in a run.

Wichita starter James Giuletti, 3-0, earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 5 2-3 innings.

Lincoln starter Stephen Bougher took the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits with a walk and seven strikeouts in six innings.

Matt Forgatch went two for four hitting for Lincoln with an RBI. Bryan Pounds added an RBI.

The third game of the four-game series is 7:05 p.m. today.
