MINNEAPOLIS — Salvador Perez went four for five hitting with two home runs, driving in four runs, to lift the Kansas City Royals to an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Kansas City jumped out 3-0 after four innings, adding three runs in the eighth and two in the ninth.

Billy Butler went two for five hitting with a home run and two RBIs. Alex Gordon went two for five with an RBI. Jarrod Dyson went two for four hitting.

Danny Duffy, 2-0, pitched 6 2-3 innings shutout innings, allowing five hits and striking out seven.

Justin Morneau hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the ninth for the Twins, his 16th of the season.

Andrew Albers took the loss for the Twins, falling to 2-1. Albers went seven innings, allowing two earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
