  • Bethel College makes new faculty, staff appointments

  • Bethel College announces the following new faculty and staff appointments for the 2013-14 school year:
    Nancy Ciskey, associate professor of nursing. She has an A.A. in nursing from Hutchinson Community College, a BSN from Newman University and an MSN and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Wichita State University.
    Joe Fenton (Nov. 2012), web editor for Institutional Communications and media services coordinator for Information and Media Services (IMS).
    Russ Francis (May 2013), information service coordinator for IMS.
    Matt Hein (May 2013), associate director of development.
    Joseph Kotz, assistant football coach.
    Joel Linscheid, instructor of music and director of jazz studies (two-year sabbatical and study leave for James Pisano). He has a B.A. in music, with K-12 education licensure from Bethel College, and an M.M. degree in jazz performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
    Robert “Bobby” Lloyd, assistant professor of business and economics. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration-management, a B.S. in foreign language-Spanish and an MBA from Fort Hays State University.
    Lindsay Luinstra, athletic training assistant.
    Donalyn Manion, communications coordinator for Institutional Communications.
    John Marble (Feb. 2013), head volleyball coach. He has a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Idaho and a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University, Irvine, Calif.
    Stephanie Marsh-Ballinger (Dec. 2012), administrative assistant for the Kansas Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (KIPCOR).
    Mallory Marsh, director of forensics and instructor of communication arts. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the School of Communication Studies, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and an M.A. in communication studies with an emphasis in organizational communication from the University of Alabama.
    Marty Mathis (Dec. 2012), head football coach. He has a B.A. in youth studies/African-American studies/art studies from the University of Minnesota.
    James McCartney, assistant football coach.
    Aron Miller, assistant football coach.
    Heather Moore, nursing admissions and office administrator.
    Reilly Murphy, football offensive coordinator.
    Wendy Nugent, alumni office administrative assistant.
    Kerryn Opat, athletic training assistant.
    Malcolm Pearson, assistant football coach.
    Margo Schrag, Thresher Bookstore clerk.
    Paige Townley, resident director of Haury Hall and coordinator of the First-Year Success initiative.
    Chris Westover, instructor of music and director of instrumental music (three-year sabbatical and study leave for Timothy Shade). He has a B.A. in music from Western Kentucky University and an M.M. in instrumental conducting from Southern Methodist University and is completing a DMA in orchestral conducting at the University of Oklahoma.
    Chi-Emeke Worthington (Dec. 2012), football co-defensive coordinator. He has a B.S. in physical education from Johnson C. Smith University and a master’s degree in athletic administration and cultural studies from the University of Iowa.

    Lorna Harder, adjunct assistant professor of biology (sabbatical leave for Jon Piper). She has a B.A. from Bethel College and currently teaches biology and computer information technology courses at Hesston College.
    Justin Heinzekehr, Bible and religion. He has a B.A. in Bible, religion and philosophy from Goshen (Ind.) College and an M.A. in theology and ethics from Claremont School of Theology, where he is completing a Ph.D. in process studies.
    Holly Nickel, literary studies. She has a B.A. in English from Bethel College and an M.A. in English literature from Emporia State University.
    Ryan J. Pendleton, business and economics.
    Thomas Rainer, visual arts and design.
    Mary Schmidt, language (teaching sign language).
    Christy Schunn-Sebes, social work.
