  • Heck to serve as new board member

  • Prairie View has announced the appointment of Willis Heck, Newton, to its board of directors.
    Heck is a retired public school teacher, school psychologist and administrator. He was a teacher and administrator in the Hutchinson Public Schools, superintendent in the Parsons District Schools and superintendent for four years in the Newton Public Schools before retiring. He completed his bachelor’s degree at Sterling College and his master’s degree at Emporia State University.
    Active in the community, Heck served on the Newton City Commission for 14 years and as mayor for the City of Newton. He and his wife, Janice Heck, are members of Trinity Heights United Methodist Church in Newton.
    The Prairie View board also includes chair Dee Donatelli-Reber, Newton; chair-elect Randy Pankratz, Newton; secretary Dorothy Nickel Friesen, Newton; treasurer Robert Wall, Wichita; executive committee member Gregory Lindholm, McPherson; Roger Hofer, Hillsboro; Michael Lamb, Hesston; Cecil Lilliston, Wichita; Michael Miller, Partridge; Judith Powers, Marion; Mary Siegmund, Newton; Brenda Thompson, Newton; and LeRoy Weddle, McPherson.
    Prairie View, a faith-based, private behavioral and mental health services provider, offers a complete range of behavioral and psychiatric services for all ages, as well as consultation services to businesses and organizations. In addition to the main campus with outpatient offices, psychiatric hospital and addictions treatment center in Newton, Prairie View has outpatient offices in Hillsboro, McPherson and at two locations in Wichita.
