A community open house will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 29, at Newton Medical Center’s new clinic, the Medical Plaza of Sedgwick.

Located at 520 N. Commercial Ave., the Sedgwick clinic officially opens Monday, Aug. 5. The clinic will provide primary care to a community that currently does not have medical facilities within its city limits, and Spencer Duncan, DO, will be the clinic’s primary physician.

“I chose to pursue family practice because of the broad scope of problems that you see on a daily basis, as well as the long-term relationships that develop with patients you care for over many years,” said Duncan.

Born and raised in Kansas, Duncan earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Southwestern College in Winfield, and his DO from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He conducted his internship in family medicine at Minnesota State University — Mankato and completed his residency at Travis Air Force Base in California.

Duncan is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The Sedgwick clinic is now taking appointments. To make an appointment with Duncan, call 975-4000.
