    HESSTON — Hesston College volleyball coach Jessica Cleveland signed Amanda Parker of Uniontown, Ohio, to a letter of intent to play with the Larks beginning this fall.
    Parker is a 5-foot-9 right side hitter for Lake High School, where she was a three-year letterwinner. She also competed in track.
    "Amanda has a dynamic arm at the net and serving line that will score points for us," Cleveland said. "Her passion for the game and strong work ethic will help her succeed."
    Parker attends Hartville Mennonite Church. She intends to study pre-veterinary studies at Hesston.
    Wingnuts run
    streak to 13
    WICHITA — The Wichita Wingnuts ran its franchise-record winning streak to 13 games after a 4-3 win over the Lincoln Saltdogs Thursday in American Association play at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
    Wichita took a 2-1 lead after four innings. Each team scored a pair of runs in the fifth.
    Wichita's Justin Klipp went 6 2-3 innings, allowing three runs on eight hits with no walks and six strikeouts for the win. Nick Walters struck out the sole batter he faced in the seventh. Andrew Aizenstadt walked two and struck out one in the eighth. Lincoln Holdzkom gave up a hit with a strikeout in the ninth for the save.
    Lincoln's Stephen Bougher went seven innings in the loss, allowing four runs on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Danny Mesaros pitched the eighth inning.
    Wichita's C.J. Ziegler went two for four hitting with an RBI. Cole Armstrong drove in two runs.
    Lincoln was led by Michael Coles with three hits in five at bats, including a home run, and two RBIs. Yasel Gomez went two for four.
    Wichita is 41-18. Lincoln is nine games behind Wichita in the AA Central Division at 32-27. The two teams meet again at 7:05 p.m. today in Wichita.
