HESSTON — Hesston College announced the signing of a women's basketball player and a volleyball player to letters of intent to play for the Larks beginning this season.
Nichole Saxton of Tulsa, Okla., signed to play basketball at Hesston. Saxton is a 5-foot-6 point guard. She was a homeschool student, who played for the Tulsa Defenders, averaging 12 points a game. She was named her team's offensive player of the year.
“Nicole is a combo guard who can create her own shot and set up her teammates with creative passing,” HC women's basketball coach Dan Harrison said. “She’s an extremely hard worker who will be successful at the collegiate level. We’re pleased that she will join our team and college community this fall.”
Saxton attends The Church at Battlecreek in Tulsa. She intends to major in nutrition and exercise science at Hesston.

She is transferring to Hesston from Cowley College, which finished second in the NJCAA Division II National Championships. She will have one year of junior college eligibility remaining.
Weakley was a three-sport athlete at Bluestem, competing in basketball and track in addition to volleyball.
“Brianna is a committed volleyball player who’ll bring a high level of play to our program,” HC volleyball coach Jessica Cleveland said. “We look forward to seeing what Briana can do for us.”
Weakley attends the Haverhill Christian Church in rural Augusta. She intends to major in nursing at Hesston.
